STACIR/AW – designed for ultra high-temperature lines.
Hi-STACIR/AW – maximum capacity, minimal sag.
Excellent performance at 210–250°C continuous operation.
Factory-supplied STACIR/AW with ASTM/IEC standards.
Upgrade grid reliability with Hi-STACIR/AW conductors.
Application
STACIR/AW (Super Thermal Alloy Conductor Invar Reinforced with Aluminium Clad Steel) and Hi-STACIR/AW are high-performance overhead transmission conductors designed with heat-resistant aluminum alloy and aluminum-clad steel-Invar alloy composite core. Its outer layer is heat-resistant aluminum-zirconium alloy, and its core is aluminum-clad Invar steel wire (AW + Invar), which has extremely low thermal expansion coefficient and excellent tensile strength.
These two conductors are designed for long-term high-temperature operation and can stably transmit power at 150°C to 210°C. Because the thermal expansion rate of Invar (iron-nickel alloy) core material is extremely low, the line sag can be kept stable even under high temperature conditions. They are suitable for transmission lines in mountainous areas, large spans, high loads or extreme climate environments.
Compared with traditional ACSR or TACSR, STACIR/AW and Hi-STACIR/AW conductors not only improve current carrying capacity and thermal stability, but also significantly reduce line sag and tower height requirements, reducing overall project investment and maintenance costs.
The products comply with international standards such as IEC 62004, ASTM B958, and ASTM B941, and are ideal for upgrading and increasing the capacity of ultra-high voltage (UHV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) power grids.
