XLPE Insulation Armoured Power Cable
Durable XLPE armoured cable for harsh environments.
Steel tape or wire armour for enhanced mechanical protection.
Ideal for underground, industrial, and outdoor installations.
High-performance XLPE insulated cable with IEC/BS standards.
Reliable power delivery with rugged armoured construction.
Application
XLPE Insulation Armoured Power Cable is engineered for reliable power transmission in demanding environments, combining advanced insulation technology with mechanical protection. It features copper or aluminum conductors insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), a thermoset material formed by a chemical cross-linking process that improves heat resistance, dielectric strength, and long-term aging performance.
XLPE insulation enables the cable to operate continuously at 90°C and withstand short-circuit temperatures up to 250°C, making it superior to traditional PVC-insulated cables. It provides excellent resistance to thermal stress, water ingress, chemicals, and UV exposure.
For mechanical protection, the cable is armoured with steel wire (SWA) or steel tape (STA), depending on whether it is a single-core or multi-core design. This armor layer protects against impact, crushing, and rodent damage, allowing the cable to be laid directly underground or in harsh industrial environments without conduit.
