CCS-Copper Clad Steel Stranded Wire
Copper-clad steel stranded wire, strong conductivity, better tensile strength.
Suitable for grounding, communication, and lightning protection systems.
Steel core plus copper layer, corrosion resistance, long life.
High strength, low cost, more cost-effective to replace pure copper.
Factory direct supply of CCS conductors, support customized processing.
Application
CCS (Copper Clad Steel Stranded Wire) is a composite conductor with a layer of pure copper coated on the outside of a steel core. The copper layer is tightly bonded to the steel core using metallurgical processes, and has the good conductivity of copper and the high strength of steel. It is usually made of multiple strands of copper-clad steel single wires, with a compact structure and excellent mechanical properties.
Compared with pure copper wire, CCS conductors have higher tensile strength, lighter weight and lower cost, while meeting the electrical performance requirements of communications and power systems. Its surface is highly conductive copper, ensuring excellent signal transmission performance, while the steel core gives it excellent fracture resistance.
Specifications
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| 🧲 Excellent Conductivity | The outer pure copper layer provides conductivity close to copper wire (commonly 15%, 20%, 30%, 40% IACS) |
| 🔩 High Mechanical Strength | Steel core structure with tensile strength up to 200–300 MPa, suitable for high-stress environments |
| 🛡️ Strong Corrosion Resistance | Copper layer prevents oxidation of the steel core, suitable for underground or highly corrosive areas |
| 💰 Cost-Effective | Cheaper than pure copper, performs better than ordinary galvanized steel, economical and practical |
| 📡 Good High-Frequency Performance | High-frequency current mainly flows along the surface (skin effect), copper layer fully supports signal or lightning current transmission |
| 🛠 Easy to Process and Install | Can be stranded, welded, crimped, etc.; stable structure that resists breakage |
