Aerial Bundled Cable (Complying with IEC / BS / AS/NZS / NFC / HD Standards)
ABC cable designed for safe overhead power distribution.
Standards-compliant bundled cable for urban and rural networks.
UV-resistant and insulated conductors for aerial installations.
Low-maintenance ABC cable ideal for harsh outdoor conditions.
Reliable and space-saving solution for overhead LV systems.
Application
Aerial Bundled Cable (ABC) is a compact, insulated overhead power cable system designed for low and medium voltage distribution in urban, rural, and remote areas. Unlike bare conductor systems, ABC cables feature tightly bundled insulated conductors, significantly reducing the risk of short circuits, electrocution, and line faults due to tree contact or harsh weather.
Constructed with aluminum or aluminum alloy conductors, and insulated with XLPE, HDPE, or PE, ABC cables are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and easy to install on poles without requiring heavy infrastructure. Some designs include a messenger wire or neutral conductor for added mechanical support.
These cables are widely used for overhead service lines, temporary connections, and grid extensions in challenging terrains. Their insulated design enables closer installation clearances, improves public safety, and reduces power outages due to external interference.
ABC systems are manufactured in accordance with multiple global standards including IEC 60228, BS 7870, AS/NZS 3560.1, NFC 33-209, and HD 626, ensuring adaptability across international markets.
Aerial Bundled Cables offer a cost-effective, reliable, and safer alternative to traditional bare overhead lines, particularly in densely populated or forested environments.
