Application
Medium voltage power cables designed to ICEA S-93-639 / NEMA WC 74 standards are engineered for reliable performance in grounded and ungrounded systems operating at 15 kV, 25 kV, and 35 kV. These cables feature copper or aluminum conductors, thermoset XLPE or EPR insulation, concentric metallic shielding (copper tape or wires), and optional water-blocking layers for enhanced protection.
The insulation is rated for continuous operation at 90°C, with short-circuit temperature capability up to 250°C. Depending on system grounding, cables are manufactured with 100%, 133%, or 173% insulation levels to meet varying dielectric stress requirements.
ICEA MV cables are widely used in utility distribution networks, industrial facilities, wind and solar farms, and underground or ducted installations. Optional jackets in PVC, PE, or LSZH are available to provide resistance to UV, moisture, and mechanical damage.
These cables offer excellent electrical integrity, thermal stability, and long service life, even in harsh conditions. Full compliance with ICEA S-93-639, IEEE 383/1202, and UL standards ensures high reliability and safety for medium voltage power transmission in North American and global projects.
